I have been away from the forum for some time, so perhaps this has already been addressed, but has anyone heard if Moultrie will be offering a discount/rebate towards the purchase of a new MV2 to current MV1 users?
like in a weeks or months?... antlers have started growing and i am wanting to get my cameras out "very soon"... if I can get 20% off I will upgrade else I am switching
@edjukappy Be looking for an update on Wednesday of next week! You're going to be very pleased with the deal we are offering. Also, you will not have to return your MV1's to us, and they will continue to work until the end of 2019, so you can go ahead and get it out there and start scouting!

Same here, no email. If Moultrie is serious about offering a discount I'll hold out a little bit longer, but come July I'm going to shop around & pull the trigger on something... MV2 or not.

Got my new modems today. I didn't know that they took the antenna off these. My mv1s have been working fine but signal level is never higher than 50% and only has 14% now that the trees are at full bloom. It may not work at all now and I won't know until I activated them. At least on the mv1 I could swap out the antenna for an extended antenna if I wanted.
Hate to say so but there are other cameras with antennas which I'll be forced to switch to
not good to hear bout the reception... I got my MV1 out living its last days and have had reception issues only ever for this year... if MV2 is the same or worse then that will be the end of our relationship... and looking for recommendations on something else
Technology has changed so much in the last 20 years. Antennas-at least the size on the MV1, are not all that helpful. It's really just another part that's susceptible to breaking.
There's a reason phones and cars don't have antennas anymore.
One important thing to keep in mind is that regardless of the antenna, the MV2 and MV1s are on entirely different wireless technology. You could have the biggest antenna in the world attached to an MV2 and still have worse signal than an MV1 if they don't have 4G coverage out that far.
If you're having bad reception you might check if the other carrier (Such as the ATT version) would do better in that particular spot. They have links to the carrier coverage maps at https://www.moultriemobile.com/coverage-map

Mine shipped out yesterday. Got an email. I was a day late ordering.
